Carlo and I made it out to Lake Las Vegas yesterday afternoon and enjoyed a few hours sitting down by the pool reading and lounging in the cool water. It was a perfect escape from the constant and oppressive heat of Vegas! The Loews resort where we stayed was very nice, and even though the [...]

The Crip and I
Carlo went to an orthopedic surgeon this week to get a second opinion about his ankle. It turns out that the bone chip is an old injury and his ankle is thankfully only severely sprained! It was definitely some good news (although bizarre since who knows when he did this to himself), but the surgeon [...]

Ankle Update
Carlo flew back a day early from Finland and arrived back in Vegas last night. He went to urgent care this morning after both sides of his ankle became severely bruised. Turns it out it was a good thing he went to the doctor rather than just assume he had a sprained ankle. After an [...]

It happened late on Wednesday night and I woke up to feel my bed shaking and the head board banging against the wall. I was so exhausted that I thought maybe it [...]

California Dreaming
Three weeks ago, Carlo and I made the drive through the desert and went to LA for the weekend. We went to see some art, and art we did see, including the fabulous Flavin retrospective at LACMA. Aside from looking at art, we also ate some great meals like dinner at A.O.C.
Eating noodles at Daikokuya [...]

Vegas Vanity Plates
Vanity license plates are ridiculously popular here, and (as you’d expect) most of them are ridiculously stupid. This one we saw this morning, however, really sets the bar pretty high:
